I don't like when the plot twist of the story is known from the begining. If he was open to her about her identity, I might have continued, but half way through the book, I don't think that is going to happen.

The characters were unfortunately very dull and I fear it was focused on their flaws a little TOO much. As a bigger woman myself, I genuinely did not need all of that especially if the main character was gonna tweet about people being mindful.

A selfish reason of DNFing this book also stems from me studying latin in high school and personally having to translate the latin that Virgil writes in the Aeneid actually gives me trauma and the thought of casually turning it into fanfiction from a show irks me. Also the book was written in third person which I absolutely despise.

Side note: imagine writing smutty fanfiction about a character and then dating the actor? Nightmare scenario.

When I selected this book, it was on the recommendation of a friend and I hadn’t planned on just finishing a book that left a bad taste in my mouth for how the author portrayed dyslexia. This book however did not do that. I was glad that the character was upfront about the disorder. It added to his vulnerability (dyslexia isn’t easy) and his likability. Honestly, it made me like this book more. The self-image topics (body image and dyslexia both) were artfully managed in this book and I will recommend it as a result.
