3.5 stars. I liked the characters in this book, and the whole premise! But as a fat person myself, a lot of the writing seemed more like a PSA or lecture than a romance novel. Obviously there is a place for that, even (maybe especially) in romance novels, but there was just too much of it for me.
But I did appreciate April’s confidence, her job, her hobbies, and her ability to set and enforce boundaries. A great female lead.
I also enjoyed the spice (it was pretty hot! Maybe 3.5 out of 5 peppers on the spice scale.)
A fun book overall, and now I’m ready for the sequel!

Absolutely loved this story!!
Of the 2 characters, Marcus has to my favorite! The way he is portrayed and the self doubt he suffers from didn’t impact his ability to love and appreciate April for all that she was
April’s “take no 💩“ attitude very nearly cost her everything, but because of Marcus’ actions, she was able to overcome her own demons
I definitely could have done without many of the server updates to the fanfic stories. Some were def necessary though to understand the relationships/storyline
I did feel like the opening chapter needed some work. I felt as if I was thrown into the middle of a story already being told, but I acclimated quickly
All in all, great story! Great spice! Excellent banter & character development!!

The book wasn't perfect by any means; some parts felt a bit redundant. However, though I normally don't read romance, I was drawn to the plot and especially the characters. I do not participate in any fanfiction communities nor do I read them, but given the way the fanfic sections were written, I was immediately intrigued! The characters feature a male protagonist has dyslexia and a female protagonist, is proudly fat and intelligent and has a career that brings her great joy. Displaying accurate portrayals of disabilities and strong, intelligent women who happen to be fat and demonstrating that these people are capable of being loved is such a rarity and for those reasons, I immensely enjoyed reading this book.
