"Sweetheart, I know you're an adult, but adults are like vampires. The older ones are much more powerful.”

This was my first Slaughter experience. As far as Thrillers go, she handed me my ass. Karin Slaughter said, “Welcome Mads, here is your ass back.” I couldn’t put it down. Seriously, I couldn’t stop reading it. No, no… I meeeean like, I DIDN’T put it down. Called out of work and everything! Okay I admit, not my finest hour of behavior but in my defense, I am my own boss so it’s just between us Goodreads. Shh… no one has to know. Wooo!! Slaughter you badass!

Very slow start, this is the first book I ever almost stopped reading. Took until about 40% in to get good. Once it gets good it gets amazing and hard to put down. Happy I decided to keep reading on. Crazy twists. Trigger warnings for rape and murder, definitely very graphic into those areas.

i wish i could unlearn things i learned about in this book.

i don't want to say this was predictable because i truly didn't see the twists coming, but it's kind of obvious from the start that everything is connected. this was a little upsetting, but i still bulldozed through this book because i wanted to know all of the details.

this book is really messed up and comes with a whole list of trigger warnings. if i find a good list, i'll update y'all
