This was a basic take on the afterlife imo. Basically mc dies suddenly and goes to heaven where he (surprisingly) meets 5 people that help him process his shitty life and death. He was def a cynical and depressed character, and the processing of his outlooks seemed shallow. Not very religious besides the “everything happens for a reason” sentiment. This was fine but it kinda glossed over abuse and ptsd from being in war and I felt like it could’ve been less cliche. It didn’t live up to the potential basically.

No life is waste. The only time we waste is the the time we spend thinking we are alone.
NO MORE TO SAY THAN SUCH A MEANINGFUL JOURNEY, EVEN THO IT'S FICTION, TOTALLY.
Again, Albom managed putting decent words with precious meaning for life. Like we don't just seeing affairs as one point but we have to look other points too to understand what if happens and why we should let it passed or forgive. Warmth reading! Profound! Deep!
The reason I gave four because there's a part I can prediction, overall such a superbly imaginative and beyond!

A beautiful story. I think this will stay with me for quite a while.
heartfelt, but too moralizing and cheesey for me. also, not a fan of the whole 'everything happens for a reason' undertones.

I like it, but the movie was actually better in this case. Bawled my eyes out the whole movie.

For what its worth, I would give this 3 1/2 stars if I could.
The book is strange, almost something you expect to see in the waiting room of a hospice or something you would want to give to children to teach them about death in a saccharin way. But the book is actually better than that, and definitely a worthwhile read.
I liked the author's short, easy-to-read style so much, I later read Tuesday's with Morrie, although I liked this book better.

The book is so comforting and it shows the growth of the protagonist all throughout the flow of the story where he met 5 different people which in the end, I found out that are all connected to Eddie’s life story. It made me also reflect on the reality of life that life is short and we have to make the most out of it and be KIND to everyone.
