Wow, the way the book was written was so well thought through and raw at times. It deals with some difficult topics whilst still providing a twisty, gripping story. What I liked was the questions this made me ask myself about thin line between right and wrong.

From the shocking first couple of chapters to the major reveals of the last few, Next of Kin took me on a gripping, thought provoking ride that really made me question what is truly right and what is truly wrong. This is the type of thriller that tackles some pretty heavy material but it's also one that I rarely wanted to put down. The author managed to pack one hell of a punch into this 300 plus page read and just when I thought I had things figured out or decided on what I wanted the outcome to be, she smartly took things in a different direction that I wasn't expecting which made for a very intriguing read. The characters were written in a way that truly made you feel their pain, their guilt and really empathize with their circumstances but also left you having to decide which one of them truly was the bad guy here. Thrillers don't get much better than this one.

Wow. I didn’t expect this book would give me so much to think about. Mainly about gender roles, how society hates women and how we will always going to be judge for absolutely anything way harder than any man. Also about male ineptitude.
