Parenthood is absolutely not my thing but Fredrik Backman very much is so I gave this a go. Its a memoir told through letters from father to son, lessons on life. Letters like 'IKEA' and 'Stuff' are hilarious and only indirectly about parenting but then a chapter like 'Soccer' comes along, is directly about fatherhood but is relatable anyway and its completely beautiful because that's the only way Backman can write.

This wasn’t what I expected - I think I was expecting a few more deeper passages but it felt generally quite lighthearted and at times a bit like it was trying to be funny and some of those moments didn’t land with me. But the last chapter was really beautiful and I would still recommend it on that chapter alone.
از لحظهای که بازش کردم تا لحظهای که تمام شد نتونستم این کتابو زمین بذارم.
باهاش خندیدم، بغض کردم و یه کوچولو اشک ریختم.

This is a fun light read no matter what stage of parenting you may be experiencing. It would make a fun Father’s Day gift or baby shower gift!

This is better than many novels that I've ever read before. I was dying of laughter at a sentence and then sobbed right after it. Damn
"Your Parents’ Marriage: An Introduction
Boy meets girl. Girl meets shoes. Shoes meet shoes. Boy empties basement. Shoes fill basement. Boy empties wardrobe. Shoes fill wardrobe. Girl goes into guest room and comes back out of walk- in closet. Boy and girl have baby. Girl meets baby shoes. Boy meets a more “practical” car. Girl meets shopping mall. Boy puts down foot. Girl is forbidden to buy new shoes before girl throws out old shoes. Girl throws out boy’s shoes."
