Influential, relevant, yet outdated in its message.

It's an easy read on a difficult subject. I'd often heard that Chinua Achebe hated the book, partly because it's a book about Africa in which Africans rarely speak, which in my opinion is a fair criticism. That said, I don't think it deserved the level of vilification that Achebe hurled at the book.

Extremely poetic without any real plot. I read the first story.

I get the point but this was an abysmal reading experience I wanted to gouge my eyes out
