Best thriller I read this year. Almost every chapter ends with a shocking twist.

Not only is it very informative, but it's also very well written, not condescending and funny at times.

This book does contain a ton of interesting, largely untaught history of US action around the world, but in my opinion its critique of the US is not strong enough and at times the book still has a palpable sense of american exceptionalism. It is certainly written from a privileged, American point of view and I think it could have given more attention to the harmful impacts of colonialism and empire.
