Dani lost her parents and shortly after that, she lost her voice. Her sister and brother-in-law set her up to be the personal assistant of Lincoln, a Hollywood heartthrob, who happens to be starring in a movie with Dani's sister. Dani's main form of communication is texting. I enjoyed this one and Dani's sarcastic comments and use of emojis!
Overall, it was another enjoyable, quick read from RVD. Did I love it? No. Here are my thoughts:
1. She brings in all her characters from the previous Seaside books and Wes and Saylor are in the story briefly too. Oh, and Zane mentions he is related to Nixon. So, it was cool to see her tie all her books together.
2. You don't have to have read the previous seaside series as this starts a new spin off. However, Alec and Demetri play a huge role so if you didn't read the previous books, you might be a little confused at some points or feel like you missed something.
3. The plot is good, Dani and Linc are likable characters, and the story keeps moving without dragging. However, it wasn't amazing, you know? I felt like it was a typical New Adult genre book. Trouble girl meets hollywood hunk. Love blooms.
So, maybe my expectations are high because its RVD. Maybe I struggled with the book because I didn't read the previous seaside series so I had no idea who most of the characters were. Bottom line: its a good NA romance book. If you like NA, you will love this.
Heat: 1.5

What's it all about:
Dani isn’t your normal teenager. She has been through things that someone that young just shouldn’t go through, and it has effected her life drastically. Fast forward to present time, and the mute Dani seventeen year old seems content with hiding away with her life. That is until her brother-in-law forces her to interact with the outside work. Cue in Lincoln Greene. Dani hasn’t felt something this real in a long time, and who knows if it will even last, only time will tell.
The Best Parts:
Everything about this book was basically perfect. I loved the characters even though I haven’t read them from the other books Rachel has written, but make me now want to read! The plot line was great as well. It gave so much hope for that true love that everyone looks for. I especially loves the writing style of going back and forth between Linc and Dani’s POV. It helps with what is actually going on in their heads at that particular moment. I also loved the family mentality throughout the book. For a girl who has almost no family, she seems to have all of the family in the world.
This book is amazing, and I cried on the inside, so many times. I cried on the inside because I couldn’t cry on the outside. There were a few parts that hit my soul a little too hard and I just felt numb. The is one portion with her father that if you have or haven’t read it you will understand. Being a daddies girl and losing my father at 17, this story really hit home. I felt my heart break over and over again with the feeling of I know exactly what Dani is going through and all of the self destructive thoughts going through her head. This novel also reminds me of my husband and I. My husband brought me out of my dark destructive self and helped me learn to love and trust again. This was something that I have been needing for a long time. A book that told me I wasn’t alone. That I’m not crazy. So yea maybe I have a little bias when writing this review, but when ever you read a book you always bring your personal experiences to it, and mine helped me love this book all the more.
The Worst Parts:
There was only one part that bothered me, and why it made me give 4 of 5 starts, and that was the end. I felt like it was so rushed. When Dani freaks out at Linc and goes cold again it isn’t something that is shown very much. She just goes and then comes out. Takes maybe five pages. I wish we could have seen her inner battle and seen more of a fight to get her back. I don’t know something, it just felt like it lacked and then all of a sudden it was all happily ever after.
Final Thoughts:
Buy the book. Buy it now and you won’t regret it. It took me maybe 3 hours to read it. It is totally worth it on so many levels, and just fills your heart with all of the feels. I have read many of Rachel’s books and find her writing amazing, so I may be biased in that department, but let me tell you how amazing this story is! Also, I can’t wait for Zane’s story! :D

There is the girl who doesn’t speak. And the boy who talks all the time. He is a famous actor; she is just the girl who works for him. Together, they could be so much more.
5 stars. Believe me, I don’t hand those out easily.
Why do I love this book?
Writing style: awesome (witty, deep, full of love)
Character: awesome (the characters are all adorable – I didn't know this was a series and originally wanted to write the following: I especially love that we’ve got men who commit themselves to women. Don’t have this so often in books, or normally we’ve them in series but then this gradually happens. Here, this is just a fact. They are married or have a girlfriend. Love it.
Yeah, sucks that this is not true because it is in fact a series and did indeed happen gradually. I was a tid bit disappointed but hey...)
Plot: great (I love the story)
The characters are awesome. Our heroine is 17 and she’s so mature. Also, she is one of the strongest people I know. I think it’s odd that some of the others say she’s ‘High school’, ‘immature’ but I don’t think so. There are many book characters out there who are about 23 and much more immature than she is.
And then there’s our Hollywood boy. He’s such a cute guy; plus, he’s humble and strong, too. Even though he didn’t have the best upbringing (to put it mildly), he never let this affect him too much. He’s everybody’s darling and that’s lovely.
And all the other characters? D’s sister, her brother-in-law, her two best friends the band members, Zane? *Swoon*. Seriously, all of them are so awesome and they’re the perfect family. Love it.
One thing I did not like: the whole whale and aquarium story. I think it’s cruel to keep whales in such places and think one shouldn’t portray this quite like it is done in this book.
But yeah, great book. So glad I’ve stumbled upon it!!

4.5 stars! I really enjoyed this one. The characters were fun, the situation they were in was interesting and overall it was just a great story. I didn't know about this one until I saw the release of Keep. So I had to read this one first so I could go onto the second one!
4 out of 5 Stars
Capture is book 1 in the Seaside Pictures Series. I enjoyed Capture and can't wait to continue with the series. I loved Dani and Lincoln.

Oh my happy little heart. This book was quite a sweet read.
Dani blames herself for her parent's death. After a trauma like that she lost the ability to speak. She functions with texting. She's lost many friends over this, and people think she's snotty or just acting. She wishes she could just open her mouth and say the words, but she can't. It's not a life she wants, but no matter what she does, she can't break through this barrier.
Lincoln Green goes through assistants a bit more often than he wishes, so when he hires a non speaking Dani, he hopes this might work in his favor.
Dani is very nervous working the hot actor, but there's something about him. He's super funny and very patient with her. Soon she finds herself falling for the guy who is so out of her league, but, at the same time, seems to be just what she needs.
I positively loved this sweet story. My heart broke for Dani and the way she struggled. We each function differently and handle trauma the same way. I am so glad this was shown in a positive light. I wanted to reach in and give her a hug and tell her it's ok.
I was so happy to see all the gang there. It was fun. And also there was a nice surprise tucked in there, and that REALLY made me happy. Well done, Rachel!!
