Just couldn’t get into it. It was weird. The mystical creatures was the problem.

It was kind of slow until the last 200-250 pages.

Felt like I had to give it a try! I enjoyed reading it overall, fun bits of magic and a decent enough plot about warring nations. But omg the main character was tough to back - petulant, unobservant, boring, and horny 70% of the time? And why name her Feyre in a book about fae and fairies? Nonsense

So awful.

Pros:
- I actually kind of liked the main fae guy, but I know he's not actually the real love interest.
- I'm a sucker for trials. Too bad Feyre is an IDIOT.

Cons:
- Illiterate teenager is upset that she is forced to escape abject poverty and live in a nice place and have access to food.
- inexplicably really good at hunting with a bow, presumably because that was popularized by THG.
- they seriously couldn't have aged up the FMC?
- Ancient fae love interest
- the FMC tells you how to pronounce her name within the book. Totally unnecessary
- Feyre is literally so stupid and annoying. Not sure why anyone likes her.
- FMC feels no remorse/takes no accountability for KILLING SOMEONE.
- Only not YA bc of the spicy scenes.
- no substance to the world or the writing.
- the map is literally GB and Ireland with Ireland being the bad place and England being the good place. Come ooooon.
- fucking WATERY BOWELS

I never thought I would enjoy this as much as I did. Tamlin and Rhys stole my heart.
Adventure, longing, survival, mystery and love. Honestly an incredible read and so beautifully written.

Well this is my second time reading this book and to be honest it took me a lot more time that I wanted to finish it. Not only because maybe I was focusing my attention on other stuff that was not reading, but also because I already knew the first book was going to be "hard" for me to get through, since I really don't like Tamlin (iykyk).

The last 20% of the book is in my opinion the best part of the story since the begining of the books drags a bit too much for me, again I don't know if this is because I already knew what was going to happen and wanted to get to the "good part" or another thing.
I believe I will have a better time with the next books because that is what I'm really rereading this series for 😌

Overall I really enjoyed the book. I absolutely love some of the characters and I enjoyed the writing. That being said, I do have some issues with it but they’re just personal things that bug me. I’d still highly recommend this book for lovers of fantasy and romance.
