I didn't love the ending, but I truly enjoyed the storytelling--from everyone.

GOOD GRIEF! This was a creepy book. Very reminiscent of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I felt unsettled from start to finish and the way Moerk delivers the narrative is so different and engaging. Wonderful. Simply wonderful.

An Irish mystery by a Danish author who lives in the USA... Very interesting book. The story grabbed me with the first few pages and kept me interested to the end and beyond. I would read more books by this author.
Ainda assim, escrita fluida e cativante!

I REALLY liked this book! A good murder mystery that follows through two dairies and a road trip. Very well done.
I really wanted to like this one. I grabbed it from our local library when they did a $5 for a bag of books sale because the back sounded so interesting.
My review really echoes many of the points previous reviews have noted. The sisters are given very little agency, and the suspension of disbelief required to push the narrative is hard to swallow. Especially for me as true crime/forensic history are huge points of interest for me.
The setting was interesting, I enjoyed the mythos of things, but beyond that it's not something I'll be clamoring to read again or recommending to others. Was very, meh.

Jeepers, what a crazy story. Though I was asked to suspend my disbelief fairly often (those diaries written by dying hostages were unnecessarily thorough and articulate, and I really don't get how a random guy can bewitch a whole town with his looks, and did aunt Moira really turn completely evil because of romantic rejection?), I ended up enjoying the reading experience and couldn't stop turning the pages.
