Objectively I’d say the first was better, but having already seen the show, book two was my favourite in the series with everything being new.
The second book is even better than the first, I am so excited for the 3rd book to come out!

A lot of people told me this second book was not as good as the first one, and I have to say, I beg to differ. This one gripped me just as much as the first as Pip and friends took on this new mystery. Just like with the first, I didn't have all the details worked out until the very end. It kept me on the edge of my seat at every turn. There is something about digging into these people's lives and the mysteries that surround them, that's so incredibly addicting. I was hooked. I do really love that this book goes into the theme of right and wrong and how there isn't a tidy answer. It's shades of gray. I love how she stuck with the failing of the justice system, something we see every day. It was just all around amazing.
