I’m not sure if I actually liked reading this book, but I do think it’s well written.
I just don’t really understand its purpose? Why was this story told?
If you’re 60/70% through the book and thinking you’re going to stop reading, keep going. At 80%, it gets much better and the ending is definitely worth a read if you’re close enough to the end.
I don’t think I would read the book again, but I’m glad I read once

Wtf, this was really… something.
I think I would have liked this more if it weren’t so boring at parts. It had so much potential to be interesting and then fell into tangents.

Really wanted this book to land, but it never did for me. I enjoyed the pace and found the story funny most times, but I thought it would land and it never did. 😪🥲

Wow! This sounded quite unpromising. A young woman in NY tries to sleep for a year by taking loads of psychiatric drugs. But it was sharp, savage and funny, and then finally, at the last minute, beautiful.
3.5 rounded down to 3. I love Ottessa Moshfegh's style and this is no exception, it's just that Eileen is damn near perfect so I can't rate this one the same. This narrator is interesting, the premise is interesting, not sure how I feel about the ending, but overall definitely enjoyed this.
