I don’t even know what I think of this book. It was so dreary and bleak and a cycle of despair. It seemed pointless, but I think that was the point??? I read in less than a day, but I don’t know if it was good or just because I wanted to get out of her head. But I will say, it’s the perfect book for your lana del Rey era

i could have just had a conversation with an obnoxious white woman instead of reading this.

I understand that she's supposed to be an unlikable character, but there is no reason for her racism. There is never anything spoken about all of her privileges. we gained nothing from her being racist and vapid.

not really sure how i felt at the end of this book, the whole thing was kind of disturbing and uncomfortable and said a lot about femininity and the position of being a woman today. the idea of respite and oblivion as an alternative to living was also concerning and i found the friendship with Reva the most interesting aspect of the book and it was honestly just very sad and painful.
