Yes! Ending has me screaming

I absolutely love the debauchery mixed with outright hilarity in this series. Breene has exceeded expectations yet again. I can't wait to see what Finley does next. I'm quite sure her enemies will regret this course.

I thought this was an excellent continuation! It had the dark and quirky humor and the spicy/steamy times around every corner. Finlay and Nyfain together are so magnetic and explosive! And Hadrial is epically funny, I snort laughed and blushed my way through this book!

Several things make this an unsatisfactory 2nd book and an unpleasant read.

1. The first book's ending wasn't compelling, making the beginning challenging to get into. There wasn't enough emotion or carryover.

2. There were several stories that the author could not tie together.
You have the romance between the two MCs. The FMC is trying to heal the land and make medicine, as well as her interactions with various villages and struggles. The gardening plot/the FMC's interactions with those in the palace. And the highly undeveloped, "This story takes place in the future, but the only reference I'm going to throw in is sometimes using the word t-shirt and having a character in jeans."
Again, NONE of these storylines is connected well. The transition between them is jarring, and no thread or vein connects them. As I stated in my first sentence, it is an unpleasant read.

3. The characters aren't well developed or explored. Their motivations aren't delved into beyond the superficial, "I want to save my kingdom" or "I'll do anything for my family." It is difficult to care about them or what happens because these aren't apparent or even part of the characters.

This didnt start how i expected… i expected the MFC to
run off into the wood to kick some ass take some names and save her man!
but it was a little more lighthearted than that and the letters were so cute, i chuckled a little “dear dickhead” haha

I loved how they were also bookworms and wanted to act out sexy smut scenes from books they had read
dangerously fucking on a horse haha “death while fucking. Dick of death.”

It kinda dragged on a bit, and finally hit the major plot point that will actually move the story forward at the very end...
