Sweet, but not particularly investing.
The central plot thread about the parents not caring as much about the kids as science was rushed. Nia's character arc was messy. She kicks the comic off by winning a robotics competition yet she doesn't feel smart enough for the family? It'd be one thing if she was into something creative or was of an average intelligence comparatively. Nope, she's totally brilliant and equal to her brother who is our only frame of reference.
I'm not opposed to the concept since people aren't always able to see their own strengths. However, I didn't think it was executed very well. It felt like an arc was being set up about her not feeling good enough in general because her parents don't show up for her. Her not feeling smart enough specifically is totally different and didn't make sense in my opinion.
I didn't laugh. I didn't cry. Still, there are infinitely worse ways to blow half an hour.

Cute family story. Adoption, genius parents, inventions, time travel, action and a robot maid. A new aged Jetsons.

Alright well that was cute. I'm not going to like officially date this cuz I'm not the target audience and I think a kid would appreciate this more than myself lol But personally, I put it somewhere in the 2-3 star range. Not bad but not for me.
I really did love the art though. Nia's design was my favorite, and her personal plotline too, though that could have maybe used more work? I saw the effort and the point, I'm just not sure it was the best executed.

This was super fun! I loved the world jumping, while also maintaining being grounded in family and teamwork. So great.

A great lesson taught through an engaging story! My 7 year old loved reading about Nia and Jayden, brother and sister who move through the multiverse to find their parents and bring them back home. While traveling, the children learn about actions and consequences in an easy to understand way. The illustrations are fantastic in this graphic novel. We can't wait to see where the Bright Family goes next!

Fun, uplifting graphic novel. Rare kind of book that has lots of action and adventure without ever really getting dark or violent
