If I’m honest, I’ve been struggling to get through books for a while so I just wanted something fast-paced. This was the perfect book for me then. The writing was very engaging and I finished it two days (yes, I may have sneaked my reading in at work).
Trench struck a great balance between introducing new suspects and foreshadowing the killer. She tread over a lot of familiar tropes for mysteries but does it well and managed to have some insightful commentary on class and gender inequality.

💭: I flew through this book! I was so curious about the ending. The first half felt like Tell Me Lies mixed with the mysterious texts of Pretty Little Liars, and I was into it. Then it felt like this book was doing the MOST. There were a lot of characters and events to keep track of, and I think I would have felt more invested with less done with more detail.
Rating: I liked it! (3)
