This is a perfect book for anyone ready for a dramatic, juicy, and easy read.

If I’m honest, I’ve been struggling to get through books for a while so I just wanted something fast-paced. This was the perfect book for me then. The writing was very engaging and I finished it two days (yes, I may have sneaked my reading in at work).

Trench struck a great balance between introducing new suspects and foreshadowing the killer. She tread over a lot of familiar tropes for mysteries but does it well and managed to have some insightful commentary on class and gender inequality.

This was a solid debut! It definitely has Pretty Little Liar vibes but in a more adult form. We had a mixture of likable and unlikable characters with too much money and too many secrets. I liked the glimpses into the past that we got throughout the novel. If you are looking for a fast moving thriller then check this one out.

This one kept me turning the pages with all its twists and turns. Told through three POVs—including that of the girl who died—it’s a layered story about power, class, misogyny, and the lengths people will go to protect their reputations.

I just wish we got more of the dead girl’s backstory; it felt like there was more to uncover about her motivations. Almost everyone in this book is cutthroat (not literally… but close!), which made it tense and messy in the best way.

Sofia, Caroline, Brooke, & Jenna are college roommates at Yale. Sofia finds herself jealous & willing to do whatever it takes to break up Caroline & Brooke's friendship. Before she's able to execute her plan, Sofia is killed in a tragic car accident.
I loved how the author had me on Sofia's "side" of the feud, a feud I don't think the other person was even aware of.
Overtime though, I thought less that Sofia was the
"underdog" & saw her more as a villain.
I really enjoyed the multi POV, both past & present, slowly revealing what happened to these four girls. I found some parts predictable, but it felt intentional because it wasn't the whole story but only just a little piece to the much larger puzzle.

Secrets from college? Yes please. This cover + synopsis + solid blurbs got me to click Request, and I few through this one!

📖: Sofia, Caroline, Jenna, and Brooke were college roommates with tumultuous relationships. After a tragic accident left Sofia dead, secrets linger to present day when she starts sending impossible texts messages. Someone knows each of their secrets from the past and the present. Through multiple perspectives and timelines, the intricate web of lies is unraveled.

🤝: This may be a good fit if you enjoy:
- lots of puzzle pieces in your thrillers
- dark academia + toxic friendships
- rich people problems

💭: I flew through this book! I was so curious about the ending. The first half felt like Tell Me Lies mixed with the mysterious texts of Pretty Little Liars, and I was into it. Then it felt like this book was doing the MOST. There were a lot of characters and events to keep track of, and I think I would have felt more invested with less done with more detail.

Rating: I liked it! (3)
