Disappointed because I love Logic and had such high hopes. This had such potential. Had the editors had a much sterner hand, reigned in the random name dropping and chapters of distracted rambling and focused much more tightly on the plot and developing it in a way that didn't feel rushed or disjointed, this would probably be my novel of 2019.

This book was so painful to read.

First, this book is extremely problematic. Very racist and sexist, I just can't believe anyone thought any part of this was okay to publish.

Second, while I am not a writer or a critic or anything, this book just felt poorly written. The worst similes you could imagine were all over this book, I guess they were used to "paint the picture" but some things really can go without saying.

Third, so many parts of this made me feel embarrassed. Like watching someone try really hard at something and it just isn't working out (figured after reading all those similes I would try my hand at one).

I feel like the story could have been so good! I think the premise is kind of cool actually but honestly the execution ruined it for me. A disappointing read.

the lyricist that logic is really shows through in his creative writing of this novel

Did not finish.
When you don’t care about the protagonist there isn’t any reason to finish the book. I thought this would be a fun read, but it quickly became a slog. The book apes Fight Club, but lacks unique characters or plot. Don’t waste your time on this one.

Really great read. Was short and quick, but I was super immersed. I loved Flynn and all the characters. Ronda and DayDay cracked me up. I don’t get all the hate this book receives. It was really enjoyable for me.

Supermarket was an odd read for me. I border on the line of disliking the book and hating it. What kept drawing me in was the storyline so I naturally had to finish it, but when it came down to it I found the book's writing and dialogue not that great. I found the portrayal of mental health to be borderline offensive and the breaks from the fourth wall to be so jarring that it really took away from the story that Hall had written.
