officially marking this as a DNF at 25% into the book. reading this felt like a cheap knockoff of gillian flynn's "gone girl". the main character is extremely unlikable and considerably irritating. i feel like the only reason this book is becoming popular is because it was marketed as the "next gone girl".

Wat een ontzettend bizar en spannend verhaal. Ik had de film eerst gezien, maar de film en het boek lijken niet echt op elkaar. Sommige stukken vond ik wel wat heftig om te lezen en daar heb ik snel doorheen gebladerd.
It started out good, I was invested. Then it just kind of drug on and on, and the further we got into the book, the more I despised the main character and her fat shaming self. I understand having an ED, i’ve gone through that myself on more than one occasion, but to fat shame everyone else around me too… no fam. That ain’t it.

This book was honestly so wild. I can’t really decide on a rating. Books rarely trigger a feeling it me like this one did. Check the trigger warnings for this one because it’s intense.
This was not at all what I expected, but it was enjoyable enough. I will say the fatphobia was super unecessary to the storyline and I still didn't really like Tiffany in the end.
I thought this book was going to be about the "troubles" of a young, fashionable new yorker that is engaged to the perfect guy. Instead this book is mostly about a school shooting and bullied teen that took place in 2001. I was disappointed and felt like the book was just all on one level; no ups or downs, just moving along with no excitement.
