The series is very addictive, it's easy to read and enjoy. The book jumps straight into things without a recap so it's best to not wait too long between books.
The world is super interesting and feels very fleshed out. I love the mix of fantasy, dystopian and sci-fi elements.

Ok. I was a little nervous about this change over. Can these really be read as a standalone? As a series reader am I going to miss the couple from the first book? I wasn't disappointed. I do think you could pick up the series here and have a good understanding of the world. I also found I wasn't inundated with information I already knew about as a continued reader. Happily I also found myself still closely connected to Clarke and Rush's story even with the introduction to Laurel and Thorne.

I'm really enjoying this series. I listened to the audiobook, and I loved the male narrator.

Thorne is an ass a lot of the time, but when he finally caves to the mate bond, it's hot.

Laurel is a badass bitch and the perfect match for Thorne.

Can't wait to read Jasper's book.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this whole series. Something about it just worked for me.

The first books main character almost made
me DNF but I powered through and I really liked the book. Enough to start the third. If all keeps going well I am in for the series!

I love the world building magic and Fae after the apocalypse. I love the men, the women sometimes are hard for me but I am getting better at ignoring the “strong independent woman” stereotype that’s a bit to strong for me. Like you just woke up 2000 years later and the world is magic and fae and scary creatures please stop stomping around acting like your the boss of everything. Quite literally one scene has them in a death match battle in an auditorium and this b*tch stops and stomps over to whom she assumes are the people running the DEATH MATCH and DEMANDS they stop. She flashes a bit of her power that she’s still barely got a grasp….uuuuggghhh!! That’s not a strong female lead, that’s a “Karen”. So I am praying the female leads are more likeable as we go.

I do love Rush and Clarke’s baby girl, I wish we heard more from her. I love any intersection between Rush and Willow or Willow and Thorn!!

So that maybe sounded negative but it’s not, it’s a good book and you should read the series.
