The Summer of Songbirds by Kristy Woodson Harvey

Childhood friends are trying to save their summer camp. It was hard to follow the different POVs (from the 3 friends - where was Mary Stuart's POV? What was her point in the story?), as I thought they all had the same voice, nothing differentiated them from one another. The plot was a bit all over the place. And some things that happen between the friends make me wonder how they even are still friends (with friends like these...).

Fun summer read! A little cringy at parts but still cute for lovers of small town drama, summer camp nostalgia and lifetime friendship

This book is perfect for sunny days leading up to summer with a cold beverage in hand! It made me nostalgic for summer camps as a kid and made me appreciate the friendships I've had since I was young. This book was sweet and moving and talks about tough topics like drug and alcohol addiction. I appreciated the changing POVs from the main characters and the character development throughout the book. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a cute (mostly) behind closed door romance with found family, summer camp memories, and a feel good story about trying to save said summer camp.

This book felt like a great concept that didn't make it for me. Characters were repetitive and lacked any real depth and it felt like every bit of dialogue was straight from a 2011 One Direction fan fic.
