Imagine a warm summer day (it’s not humid so your hair is nice and flowy), you’re having sweet tea, a cute cat is nearby and doesn’t scatter away when you psstpsst it, your favourite book is on your lap, there’s soft live music a few streets down, you’re wistfully thinking about love lost and gained. This is how With Love from London made me feel. This is a love story but not a romance book. And a beautiful love story at that.

I loved the writing and the characters but I was a little troubled by the idea that the mother never found the daughter when she was an adult or when she knew the father had died. The setting was really well described and I wish I could go to this bookstore!
The things that happened to Eloise that led her and therefore Valentina down their respective paths just seemed too far out of character, while Valentina's chapters were too predictable
A librarian inherits a book store in London when her estranged mother dies. She goes to London to settle her mother’s affairs and falls in love with the store, the neighborhood, and the life her mother led. I enjoyed the story and the characters—but I don’t care for story lines involving long-term misunderstandings.
