I feel like duologies are my thing. Standalones usually leave me wanting for more, so a duology provides a perfect balance. Unlike some other series, the second book was even better than the first one. I liked the plot twists, they kept the story interesting and intriguing. Also, I love when I develop a soft spot for side characters (Atty, I'm looking at you). It was a great finish to the duology, and I highly recommend it.

I really couldn't decide between 3 stars and 4. This book made me cry which it gets points for. It was different pacing than the first and didn't rely on as many tropes to make the story. This left book one feeling more.lile a romance and book two more of a quest.

This book runs into a common problem that I’ve seen in other books that are sequels to books that feature trials, it spends too much time rather directionless.

I think the ending of this book brought the rating up for me, but the overall book was too long and could have benefited from being 100 pages shorter. By the time we got to the end I had a hard time caring as much because things felt repetitive.

Also, I’m sorry, but I can’t get past the fate of
SCOOP!!! Absolutely not okay with me.

All together, this book was fine, I did appreciate some of the unique ways things wrapped up.
