This was INSANE! I can’t stop thinking about everything that just happened in this book! It’s probably one of the faster-paced books I’ve ever read and it’s definitely a blink-and-you-missed-it kind of book.

The first book had me hooked. This book had great moments but dragged a bit in the middle.

I’m really bad at not giving spoilers, so I apologize for being brief in my review.

This book was wonderful. Ups and downs and again. Hard loves. Hard fights. Hard adventures. Witches and shifters. All the things that make me love a book.

I love stories from multiple POV’s as I feel like you get a more rounded story.

The way Miranda Lyn wrote is visceral. I cried. I laughed. I smiled. I was shocked. She is fast becoming my favorite author.   I cannot wait for more!

I found this book to fall a little flat compared to the first. It takes a lot of skill to pull off a duology. I thought the pacing was a bit off and parts were slow. However I still really enjoyed it. I love the Unmarked world. I loved the characters, especially the banter between Atty and Kir.

The storyline felt drawn out when the answer of how to fix the major conflict was in front of them the whole time. Decent twists/turns. I liked getting the POV of Kir but it didn’t feel needed.

I still liked this book but I didn’t devour this one as much as I did the first one! I loved the found family with Atlas and Tor, it was so cuuute. Although my biggest pet peeve is when the FMC loses their powers at the end!!! I know technicallyyyy Bash gave her the ability to cast again but it isn’t the same yknow. Overall it was a good duology and I <3 magic notes as a trope.

I truly admire the author's imagination with all the plot twists that were served the reader's way.

It was honestly a rollercoaster of emotions which was a bit exhausting as the protagonists kept getting pummelled by everything and everyone around them. However (spoilers), in the end, it was simply a relief that they can finally get the peace and happiness they deserve.
