So many tears. My poor heart can’t handle the twists like this again.

I did like the first book, I wouldn’t say that I loved it but hoped that maybe the second book could redeem it for me.
Unfortunately it didn’t. I really pushed myself to finish reading this, even skimmed majority of the pages, I just found it boring and repetitive. I probably could have just left it with the first book.

Basically, the whole book
"Don't hesitate to kill anyone who threatens us. "
"Got it. I'll kill anyone who threatens my family. "
Morgan Freeman, "But she did not, in fact, kill everyone that threatened them. "

The last 3 hours dragged on.   I wouldn't say I was completely happy with the way things turned out.
Words I never want to hear again:  devoured, melted

This book was a roller coaster of twists, turns and the most amazing lines.

The recap of the first book was the most amazing thing ever. I laughed a lot during it, and felt like Miranda nailed it perfectly. Because I had a lot of those same thoughts.

The found family in the book was so beautiful. I loved the banter and playfulness between everyone. As well as the fierce loyalty and protectiveness from everyone. I want a friend like Kirsi. She was so fun, honest and spoke her mind. And Atlas' humor (I can't wait to read his book).

Raven and her love interest (again, I don't want to give anything away) was amazing! I loved the push and pull of their relationship. Them finding each other again and again. Being there for each other through all the emotions of this book.

The ending was perfect. I didn't see any of it coming. I loved the outcome.

PLEASE GO READ THIS SERIES!

Overall, this was a good book and I had moments I enjoyed. I liked knowing I was right that
Grey was actually Bastian
but what I didn’t like was the fact that the second POV was from Kirsi. If Bastian’s had been included, I wouldn’t have minded, but Kirsi was just tiring to read about and from.  I also didn’t like that
the book ended how it did, with the shifters losing their shift, becoming witches, the witches becoming shifters and losing their powers and the FMC losing everything, except for when Bastian gifts her a small amount of power at the very end. It’s nice that there were repercussions, but big meh.
