Carino e scorrevole, stile semplice. Si sente che nasce come serializzazione online perché ci sono alcuni concetti ripetuti più volte anche quando evitabili (ho capito che Jinshi è bello bellissimo, sì).
Questo volume a livello di casi è molto episodico, ma funziona bene come introduzione alla Corte Interna e ai personaggi principali - Maomao ha un monologo interiore molto diretto e divertente.

A parte qualche informazione di worldbuilding in più, alla fine mi viene comunque da consigliare l'anime se in dubbio su dove partire per approcciarsi all'opera - sono state aggiunte alcune scene, tra cui una parte iniziale prima dell'arrivo di Maomao nella Corte Interna, e piccoli momenti di flavor che hanno arricchito il tutto, anche perché a livello di descrizioni la novel è molto scarna.

Un appunto sulla traduzione italiana, tanti TROPPI avverbi in -mente, a volte pure nella stessa frase. Avrei rielaborato un po' di più, perché alcune parti sono uscite più clunky del necessario.

finished the anime, came to the source material because there's SO MUCH TO DEVOUR 😮‍💨

i think bc the light novel is really episodic, it fits the anime/tv show format a lot better. i felt myself skimming some parts mostly bc i already knew what was going to happen, but it's nice to see how closely the anime followed in adapting this series 😌 can't wait for s2 in 2025 and to binge the rest of the series ehehe

 I had been planning to read this for a while but then they suddenly made an anime so I felt that was a sign of god urging me.
