I honestly I didn’t think there was a whole lot to say about a paranormal erotica short story…

Ok, perhaps I was wrong. This one was not just clever, the sex scene was HOT! I didn’t know I could get so giddy about a short. I mean I troll through Ellora’s Cave like a silly teenager, but no ‘quickie’ I have gotten from there has had the entertainment value that this one had.

The beginning I wasn’t totally sure about, it was first person and I was like “Wait, oh, I see, teehee, that’s fucking clever!” They always say write what you know and all I can say is that Kami Cummings totally knows what she’s doing. I liked every character in the story, even the small little taste I got of some of them. I knew that this had to have a twist or some flipped ending, and when I got to it, I think my jaw dropped and I laughed out loud. I know I should have figured it out, but I think I was so invested and looking at the percentage mark on my kindle that I was like “No, no, no! Over too soon! Over too SOOOOONNN!!!!”

Pardon, my improper grammar in this review but I am totally excited about this, I would recommend this to everyone on my blogger, Goodreads, Shelfari, and who follows me on twitter. You really can’t lose either way. It is a quick read, I read it in under an hour, and that is with a seven year old home for summer poking at me. And it is only 99 cents on Amazon! Oh, yes, I said 99 cents on Amazon! I can’t wait for a full length from this author!

Ok, I am done gushing, now GO GET IT!

This is a very quick read. It has a bit of a darker tone to it. It flows well and progresses quickly. This is a different world and because of the length we do not get a whole bunch on that. It's not entirely clear whether paranormal beings are out and accepted though at times I felt it hinted that way. This doesn't really detract from the story but just wanted to say that in case that bothers some readers. Russ is an author of vampire stories and he has made a fortune out of it, along with his persona. He puts up a facade that you are never sure if it's real or just part of the game until the end. There is a twist at the end of the story, though I had a feeling something like that was coming so it didn't blindside me. I thought it was an interesting story. The sex is explicit and takes up some of the story. This wasn't all sex though. It does play a large role because even when it's not happening, the main character thinks about it a lot.
I received a copy in return for an honest review.
