Rock Legend is book two in the Nothing But Trouble series, I didn't quite connect with the characters in Rock King, but I was still very much invested in this series. Once I learned that Landon and Piper's story was one of a second-chance romance, I was totally in and couldn't wait to get my hands on this! I loved every bit of this story, they had a lot to work through and it was still painful to bring all of that back. But it was all worth it!

I was completely engaged with their story from the very beginning, the one thing I love about second chances is going back into the past to see what happened. And then the whole journey to get back to hopefully where they used to be. It took some time for me to come around to Landon, but I knew there was more to his story. And it sure is a painful one, he didn't have an easy past, but he did what he could to make it better. However he has some unfavorable tendencies, he'll grow on you rather quickly.

Rock Legend turned out to be a much more emotional read than I was anticipating, but I really didn't mind it at all. I love emotional romances, let me tell you, I'm all about those feels! I simply devoured this book and Leigh does such an amazing job keeping you hooked on her words.

4 My Home CROWNS

Rock Legend is the second stand alone in the Nothing But Trouble series, and the journey of Landon and Piper is so sweet and sexy. Watching these two broken people find redemption in each other's arms and a home together is perfection.

Landon was a broken boy who grew up into a broken man.  He carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, and, as result, lives a life that punishes himself.  His choices are made based on his self perception and what he thinks he deserves. What readers get to see is a man who has to realize his self worth and find that he is worthy of a family and love. Readers are going to love him and all his pieces.

Piper is another sad soul who has lived a life feeling completely unwanted. She once thought she found someone who would love her, and that shattered, which has left her a bit guarded. What readers are going to love about Piper is who they get to see her become. She, by he end of the book, is stronger and doesn't find her worth in others but in herself. She is better able to love when she realizes this is enough.

Rock Legend is a romance. It follows the typical broken manwhore and the woman he left behind, but it is more about finding a home. These two are so lost, searching for someone to love and to feel worthy of that love. Watching these two deal with their demons, heal, and find their home with each other is so rewarding, and at the end of the story I was left with a feeling of contentment.

Rock Legend is a romance that is filled with hope - the promise that you can find a group of people who will love you uncondicitionally, that there are always second chances when it comes to the heart, and that love can heal the soul. Tara Leigh is creating a family with this group of rockers, and I am loving every minute of it.

Rock Legend is the second book in the Nothing But Love series, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone novel. I decided to read Rock King (NBT #1) before I jumped into this book and loved seeing glimpses of the characters from that book in this next installment.

Piper and Landon have a past. Before Landon got his big break as the drummer for Nothing But Trouble, he was a college student who was quickly falling madly in love with Piper. When his band is discovered and catapulted into the world of rock 'n roll, Piper is left behind with not even a goodbye.

Flash forward six years and we find the two crossing paths once again. Landon has a self-proclaimed "Rock Legend" and Piper, as an associate in the management company that handles Nothing But Trouble. She's done her best to avoid him, but during one fateful evening, their paths have crossed and it's like jumping back in time... and the sparks are still flying, despite Piper's attempt to keep her distance.

What I enjoyed most about this book is that the heroine is the one playing it safe and trying to be rational about her feelings rather than falling head first back in lust with the Hero. And the Hero has a chance to do all the chasing rather than having the heroine thrusting herself into his world.

Landon definitely has his work cut out for him, but he finds himself up for the challenge. He recognizes when something is worth having, you have to fight hard to make it yours. I thoroughly loved most of the experiences in this novel. The only thing I would have wanted was for Landon to show the growth he acquired through most of this book to continue even through misunderstandings.

As the reader, you know both sides of the story, so obviously you know what you think the characters should do. So maybe I am being too hard on the Hero here and I should be empathetic... but I just wanted him to live up to his maturity potential!

That being said, I was enamored throughout this entire novel. I've discovered a new-to-me author with this series and I am wholly invested in books about the other band members. I cannot wait to see how the drama unfolds for them.

Rock Legend is a stand alone book, part of the Nothing But Trouble series. This was my first time reading a book by this author. I enjoyed reading this book with it's fast paced style, well done dialogue and well thought out characters who dealt with life's struggles in fantastic ways.

The plot took us through the life of Landon and Piper. They had a brief love affair during their college years then Landon disappeared with no correspondence back to Piper. They both have demons in their past that color their reactions to the present and shape all their decisions. I enjoyed reading their story. It was a fantastic escape from my reality to jump into Landon's fancy LA rock star lifestyle and see how he and his bandmates dealt with life.

Characters - Did you like the characters? What did you like about each character? Did you like their story arc?
Landon Cox is a now famous drummer for the band Nothing but Trouble. He's living the lifestyle of the rich and famous, being a playboy and legend. His past as a foster child taken from his parents shape how he handles relationships. But he's wondering if there's more to life than the empty moments before and after his performances. Piper Hastings is working for the PR firm that handles Nothing but Trouble, after having a brief, but bright and intense love with Landon. Now she's done her best to move on with a new boyfriend...but her childhood also wasn't picture perfect. Together their baggage causes numerous struggles they have to overcome.

Landon may be a rock god (or legend), but it was nice to see him have to work for it with Piper...even after we found out they shared some time together previously. He needed more than groupie love. And she needed him to make some personal changes...but despite all that, they share a bond and heat up the sheets...and pool...and other surfaces. Landon's confident rocker swagger; Piper's reluctant desire for the former love, they both intertwine to make a steamy romance novel!

This was a fast paced book, full of twists and turns that kept me reading to see what shenanigans would happen next! The surprises were always coming and were fantastic. Not being any sort of musical anything, I love jumping into the world of someone so different from my own. I love when the characters pull stunts and “billionaire book boyfriend” antics. I was absorbed in Landon and Piper's story; they were not only great characters, but their backstory was fantastic, their bandmates provided needed moments of seriousness and levity and friendship, family gave reasons for actions, and the setting itself provided both ups and downs. The author did a great job of incorporating every day struggles as well as things specific to the musicians and their industry.

Since this was book two, I want to go back and find book one and read about Delaney and Shane to learn even more about this band of musicians and friends. I love to delve into the stories of a whole group of friends/family like this series will provide. Another high note to this book was that it provided a Epilogue to the story, and gives a great finish and send off for the characters so you not only get a quick happy ending to wrap up all the details, the reader is graced with a look into the future. Those are some of my favorite things in books.

Rock star romances are like a bad habit for me. I love them even when they rip my heart out, which is exactly what Rock Legend did to me!

Landon Cox is one of the hottest drummers around, but he's sacrificed for all his success. His past weighs on his mind all the time and he surrounds himself with the typical rockstar vices to try and forget about that past.

Piper is part of that past, but currently she also works for Landon's boss and tries to avoid running into Landon until it is inevitable. They both still love each other and for a quick moment it really seems like they were meant to be. Then things happen and it just starts to spiral and that's where my broken heart came in to play. (My Kindle only almost went flying a couple of times.)

These two were awesome together and Landon was HAWT, but it wasn't easy for them and it was plenty angsty in parts (which I personally love). Drugs, sex, and rock 'n' roll can set you up with a great life, but if you don't have the right tools to handle the success, you will inevitably stumble. What matters is who you have in your world to help you when you need it most, and if you're willing to accept that help when offered.

I've loved both books in this series and will be eagerly awaiting Dax's story coming this fall!

What a poignant, and steamy, second chance romance! Piper and Landon fell in love in college when Landon was a struggling musician. Landon disappeared one night without an explanation, leaving Piper heartbroken. Now years later they are thrown back into each other's orbit and are given a second chance. They realize their attraction is stronger than ever and their chemistry is still explosive. Landon has lived with deep regret for choosing music over Piper and jumps at his chance to make things right with the only woman he's ever loved. Piper doesn't see the 'Rock God' but the orphaned boy who just wants to be loved. When he needs her help, she will do what it takes to protect him.
But Piper is tired of making her decisions based on a man in her life. She is determined to have Landon on her own terms. They find their way back to each other but still have so much to overcome. I liked that it wasn't easy but a journey that tore down their walls to rebuild a stronger foundation.
I love Ms. Leigh's writing and how she covered sensitive issues with honesty and empathy. I especially love the ending. This is a beautiful story that is heartrending, complex, and very sexy. I am really falling for the men from Nothing But Trouble and the strong women who love them, and can't wait for more!

Rock Legend (Nothing But Trouble, #2) by Tara Leigh
Landon is a walking heartbreak. A playboy with a rocker image, but a lonely heart. Piper was a ray of light in his otherwise dark world. When people continuously treat you like nothing, eventually you start to believe it's true. In a world where image is everything, is it possible to show others the man behind the bad boy image? Leigh is not afraid to expose life at it's most painful. There is more beauty in the hard moments. Only then does strength of character and heart show. Rock Legend is a journey though pain, self-doubt, destruction and survival. Landon and Piper take a road trip through hell to find out what heaven really means. A love sonnet perfectly in tune with the heart.

When you read a great first book in a series, you wonder if the sequel will be better or worse. Well, in this case, the second book was just as good as the first one! Great story, great pace and great characters!

The magic of this story is that both characters had met in college and had a strong attraction; for two months they were inseparable. Then Landon Cox had to make a choice: his music or his girl. He needed money, so he chose the music. Six years later, Landon is a manwhore, immersed in a world of drugs and booze and groupies, but he’s lonely in a world of partying. There’s not a day that he doesn’t remember the girl he lost.

Piper has been working for Travis Taggert for three years. Travis is the agent of the Nothing But Trouble band, but she has managed to keep away from Landon for all those years. Even the previous year, when she had been working with Delaney in mitigating Shane’s scandal, she had kept away because she was working exclusively with Delaney. Until one day Delaney decides to give Shane a surprise visit, and Piper takes her to the venue and has a surprise encounter with Landon.

Their chemistry is as hot and electrifying as always, they still feel for each other and succumbed to their attraction. However, Piper is ambitious in her job and cannot socialize with a client. Yet, Landon succeeds in being assigned to Piper’s care. This couple has such strong feelings for each other, and so many obstacles to surpass. Piper is still hurt by Landon’s sudden abandonment without an excuse, and she’s still hurting from her current boyfriend’s cheating. Landon is broken, in the sense that he had a family he lost. They have a lot of comings and goings, a lot of passion and caring is expressed, but the story feels like a star-crossed lovers, where they can’t get a break. There’s a lot of heartbreak and misunderstandings, separations and searching for themselves. The environment they live in is an obstacle, but their friends are a huge support system.

I like the characters that this author portrays. They are broken but strong. Piper comes from a stable home but is unloved by her father, so she has learned to look perfect, make everyone believe she’s fine even though she’s breaking inside. She’s driven and kind. Landon comes from crack addicted parents, suffered abuse, and lost his adopted family through his own actions. He has a strong sense of guilt and of being “nothing but trouble” to any woman. Yet, he volunteers at a dog shelter unanimously and is generous. In spite of their differences, their hearts want each other and they make their way.

Very riveting and fascinating, this story is as addictive as Rock King, very heartfelt, a real page-turner. The pace and the story never lagged!

I love this book. Rock Legend is so fantastic. Tara knows just where to suck us in. Right away I felt for Landon and everything that he was and is going through. I couldn't get through this book fast enough just to see how it ended. Landon felt like all his past mistakes and new ones could never been worthy of a man for Piper.
And Piper not wanting to see Landon ever tried for 6 years to get him out of her mind. But things have a way of working out for Piper to actual see Landon again. Whether she wanted to or not. But can she forgive the boy who broke her heart all those years ago? Because Landon isn't that same boy he is now a man who knows who he wants. And he wants Piper back only can he forgive himself and see that he is worthy for her?
