My heart breaks for Sabine, Basten and even Rian. The delicate balance struck between their interpersonal relationships and the overarching power struggle builds immeasurable tension that never ceases to lurk in the back of my mind. The moment you believe you know where the story is going, there’s a fork in the road, building new possibilities for the outcome. There are many plot points left to be answered in the next book and I can’t wait to dive back into this beautifully woven world. 5/5
This was a great continuation of the book series! The dynamic between Wolf/Basten, Sabine, and Rian is explored more thoroughly. Truths are revealed about each of the characters. The fae gods are waking and stirring the pot. This book does end on a massive cliffhanger! I'm ready for book 3!

I can’t believe this cliff hanger!!! I am so invested in what happens with Sabine and Basten! Just when they were free from the schemes of one old bastard another one comes along! I have a feeling that the far in this book will not be my favorite!!! I am in shock and am heartbroken!

Book 2 moved much quicker than book one and I suspect more craziness is coming given the ending! Overall I thought the story development in this book was great, we saw more of the world and there was more animal banter which I love, especially the Monecerous (no spoilers!) & Myst, also loved the lil mouse. I can't wait to see more of the world development in book 3 and honestly these two need a break man, I can't believe the luck they face! Although the tent scene was tremendous 😂
