Honestly, yes. SEATED. This one had more lore for the world and like declarations of love which corny but again, here I am tuning in. This one had inklings of the triangle that I was hoping for but ended in a way that makes it seem like Sabine will only be w Wolf which I guess is fine.
The reveals in this were sort of standard fare but the world is fun so it’s easy to ignore the stuff you’ve seen before.
I don’t really have much to say because it ends on a cliffhanger and book 3 isn’t out yet but for what this is, it’s a good time and I’ll be reading the next one.

To say I was obsessed with this book is an understatement and I’m truly invested into these characters and this storyline. The cliff IS ridiculous on this one as in….I’m still FALLING and I’m chomping at the bit for the next book.
This was incredibly disappointing. I just can’t seem to care about Basten and Sabine …. They bore me and I get that freedom/choice is important to Sabine. But after taming a fae creature showcasing the most power people have seen in 1,000 years you’re really going to be satisfied with a little farm life?????? Give me a break.
Rian is by far the most interesting character and we don’t get nearly enough of him.
There were quite a few “twists” but some of them felt forced and like a means to an end. Idk they didn’t excite me the way I think they were meant to.
And lastly, we have a memory loss trope ((((: honestly hope Basten never gets it back and we just get a Rian redemption arc and POV.
All this and I’ll probs still read the next book because I’m a glutton for punishment and want to know what happens even if I’m irritated with the story

So intense that my butt muscles were clenched for the entire book. Ends in a cliffhanger which is why it is rated a four and not a five.

This book is a huge improvement from the first one which I honestly expected as white horse black nights felt almost like a prequel to understanding why the characters love each other, then this book comes in with high stakes and daring battles and games of wit! Some moments in this book (including one big one) had me wanting to throw my Kindle with anxiety! I had to remind myself it's just a book 😅 if you were intrigued by the first one but in didn't grab your attention the way you thought it should, give this book a chance and it might change your perspective on it! The third book is out at the end of October (2024) and I am going to read it as soon as it hits Kindle! Be forewarned, this book ends with a heck of a cliff hanger!
