Silver Wings Golden Games is as incredible as the first volume and has an ending that stands up to every bit of the intrigue, romance, drama, and suspenseful plot that I was expecting based on the wonderful world building and characters that I met there. If you like a book with twists and a story of lovers that will not let go of your imagination, then this book is what you have been looking for. With wonderful twists that I was not expecting and character development that will pull on your heartstrings and leave you guessing about their true intentions and motivations of everyone, key as well as secondary characters, Silver Wings Golden Games will leave you with a jaw dropping reveal and ending. Sabine, Rian, and Bastion's Journey is one of love, power, myth, politics, and prophecy that will not disappoint you in any way. And, as book two this is a wonderful bridge between the establishment of these characters and story in Book One and the next...so needless to say there is so much to this surprising and tense drama that will draw you in with twists and turns and acts of love and fate, stories of the prophecies of the gods, and actions of mortals that I cannot wait to see how these are setting up Book Three! What's more, I can't believe I have to wait for the next volume, but don't worry Evie Marceau is not just a skillful writer with a creative imagination but one who writes quickly so the wait will not be too long. Its seems like just yesterday I read White Horse Black Nights and began my wait for this book - that was in November - and here I am reviewing Book Two.
This was the perfect example of what a sequel should be! It picks up right where book 1 left off and just keeps pulling you further into this world. Sabine is truly such a unique character with her ability to speak to animals while also being just an all-around fierce character. And Wolf just gets better and better. Rian even grew on me. I can't wait to see where this story goes next! That ending was just mean... guarantees I'll be itching to pick up the next book as soon as it's released!

After I finished White Horse Black Nights by Evie Marceau I immediately wanted to read the sequel, because that book was so great, a really fantastic read, it was one of the best books I had read.
Now that I have read the sequel: Silver Wings Golden Games I want to read the next novel in the Godkissed Bride series. In Silver Wings Golden Games the tale of Sabine and Wolf pickes up after the events in the first book. Wolf/Basten is still very love obsessed with Sabine, but she is engaged to Rian, though against her will. She has an understanding with Rian, but cannot escape her feelings for Wolf. And a war is brewing, Fae beasts are waking up and the King is dying (or is he?).
Right from the first I was completely hooked. The writing style is mesmerizing, fast paced and flowing and the dual POV (Sabine and Wolf) makes this book so fantastic. This series is so addictive and I could not stop reading. Wolf is still the warrior, he loves violence, and the way Evie Marceau made him despite his love for violence so available is just great. She has created a wonderful likable violent character. Sabine dreams of running away with Wolf, but as she is godkissed she has formed an uneasy alliance with Rian, while she learns what she can do and who she really is. The love triangle between these three is written so well by Evie Marceau, you get to understand Rian as well, even though he is not always a nice person. Rian is very ambitious, but others are as well and he has to navigate this not to lose it all. All three main characters come across so well, they just leap off the pages and you root for all three, even though only one can have Sabine.
The worldbuilding that started in White Horse Black Nights gets more developed in this book. Evie Marceau builds the world further and you can see it before your eyes. At some point I did not want to end this book, so I started to read slower, but as the writing style and plot is so addictive, that was a losing game.
Silver Wings Golden Games is even better than the first book. There is the mythology about Fae beasts and sleeping but now awakening dangerous Fae, romance, betrayal, magic, danger, violence, mystery, and there are so many twists and turns that I kept glued to the pages. The betrayal for the crown is a great twist in an already engrossing fantasy mystery. And near the end there is this massive plottwist I did not see coming at all! There are enough questions that need answers. The cliffhanger at the end makes me want to read the next book now, because what happened there?? And how will things work out between Sabine, Rian and Wolf?
If you want to lose yourself in a fantastic novel, with a great and fast paced writing style, characters that leap off the pages, with many plottwists, great worldbuilding, unique powers: run, don’t walk to your bookstore and start reading this series.
Highly recommended!

Wow!! I need book 3 right this moment! This is such a phenomenal continuation of Sabine's story. The love, passion, betrayal, twists and turns! There was so much character development, especially with Sabine. I absolutely loved this book. And chapter 19!? Oh. My. Word.
Sabine and Basten, known as Wolf, are now in Rian's kingdom, she as his betrothed and Wolf as her guard. He is still hopelessly in love with her, despite Rian being his childhood friend. She is determined to hate him, but deep down she knows she will always love him. In his heart, Basten knows he will do anything to love and protect Sabine, even if it means watching her marry his friend.
With war on the horizon and dangerous fae beasts and powers at play from the enemy king, secrets are revealed that blow everything out of the water. Basten is forced to fight for his life and freedom, and Sabine contends with Rian's vicious father trying to control things behind his own son's back. Watching them both fight so hard for what they want, for what is right, was so hard to look away from. A true fairy tale come to life before the people of the kingdom.
With secrets, betrayals, and unexpected partnerships and forced alliances, Basten and Sabine fight for their lives and freedom in the ways they know best, forming an unlikely alliance with Rian himself. But after it all, their success seems too good to be true....and we have a massive cliffhanger ending while we wait for book 3!
