Lo aspettavo con ansia questo libro... ma è stata solo una completa delusione. Storia piatta, senza emozioni, non mi ha presa per nulla, mentre gli altri libri della Glines li ho amati, soprattutto quelli su Rush. Peccato

Vale & Crawford have been dating since grade school. They did everything together, and Vale could not imagine a life without Crawford in it. On the night of their high school graduation, Vale & Crawford are in a car accident that leaves Crawford in a coma. Instead of spending the summer getting ready to go to college, as they had planned, Vale now spends every day sitting in the hospital hoping for Crawford to wake up. And that's how the new YA romance, "As She Fades", starts out. From there, Abbi Glines takes the reader on a great journey of self-discovery, and a big plot twist that upends where you thought the story where was going!
Now, I'm the kind of reader who loves to analyze my books, trying to figure out where the story is going. Whether I end up guessing correctly or not, this generally doesn't effect my overall enjoyment of the book if it is well written, and has other surprises. I love a challenge! So, when I saw Abbi Glines at Parnassus Books in April, and she mentioned that "As She Fades" has a plot twist, I was on the case trying to figure it out.
I have to say that it was relatively easy to figure out what the plot twist was, as well as when that twist would likely be revealed. If you read extensively, you start to notice similarities across books of this genre. Those similarities happen often enough that they become predictable tropes. This allows you to pretty accurately guess what's going to happen.
That being said, I was not disappointed in the book at all. In fact, even though I guessed the plot twist, I incorrectly judged the book at the start of reading it. When I read the first few chapters, I thought I knew where the story was headed. I guessed wrong! I anticipated a stereotypical love story in which the good girl falls for the bad boy, throwing away her life and goals just to be with him. I almost stopped reading the book for that reason. I'm just not really interested in that kind of story. But, I decided to keep reading, in the hope that I was wrong. I'm glad I did. I found myself pretty impressed with the ultimate direction the book went in.
I liked how well Vale was written. She has flaws and struggles, but she is learning who she is and she is strong in many ways. "As She Fades" is a fast read: the story is not too complex or deep, but is compelling enough to make you want to keep reading. In fact, I finished it in less than a day because I couldn't put it down. It is a great summer beach read for that reason.

More like 3.5 stars.
I LOVED the first half of this book. It was amazing. the pace was perfect, the plot was amazing, and the characters were so great. But the second half...I didn't like AT ALL.
Let's focus on the first half: It was very heartbreaking and really nicely paced. I was extremely excited to see what was going to happen and HOW. And it was all great. The main character had a really good character development for the first half, and I was in love with Slate in the first half. I loved everything that happened.
The second half: At first, I thought it was totally fake, and I was okay. Then, when I realized the rest of the book was actually going to follow this new plot, I was excited at all. It was very fast-paced, so much so that what was happening wasn't believable at all. Vale was still a good character, but Slate was so DIFFERENT. I didn't like that version of Slate, and it really made the last part of the book just...pointless.
Overall, I loved the first part. It was 5 Stars for sureeee. But the second was more like 1 or 2 stars...

Amo os livros da Abbi! Todos! “No meu sonho te amei” não foi um dos melhooooores dela, mesmo assim não deixa de ser delicioso de ler! Aquela leitura rápida, fluída, fofa e com cenas de amorzinho que fazem você dar aquele gritinho de alegria, sabe?
O livro conta a história de Vale e Slate, a princesinha e o mulherengo. Até então, nada novo, enredo muito utilizado. A questão é COMO o livro é contado!

What to say, what to say... the romantic parts were vERy cliché, which I expected but was also V disappointing. BUT the plot was FirE!? The fact that we read Part 1 expecting HIM to be in the coma but Part 2 makes us realize its HER in the coma.... The plot makes me want to rate it 3.8/5 but Goodreads doesn't work that way.
Anyway, I don't think i'll be reading another Abbi Glines book (you read one, and it seems like you read them all) but twas a good escape.
