This book is told in two parts. Halfway through, I decided to come here and look at the reviews. Glad I went against everyone’s option and finished the book. It’s interestingly written. I just wish it was longer.

This book didn't quite live up to what it could have been, but it was still an OK read.

I feel like the first half did a pretty good job, but part two fell a bit short. I liked the idea, and what she was trying to do, but it felt rushed/not quite right. It lacked a bit of emotion maybe, if there was a bit more I think I would have felt more invested. The first half had me there, but not the second. The second half was not what I had expected.

Don't read past this if you haven't read it......

I liked her switch-a-roo in the plot she did. That was an interesting change. I just wanted more from it. I liked that it wasn't what I expected. I thought Crawford would wake up and she would be torn. So I enjoyed that, I just needed a bit more.

As She Fades by Abbi Glines started out as an emotional read but became so much more than that. There's a big twist in the middle of the book that I didn't see come, love when an author is unpredictable and I dont see things ahead of time. This is the first book I have read by Abbi Glines and definitely wont be the last, not sure why I waited so long to read her books. I absolutely feel in love with the characters of As She Fades. My favorite character was Slate, I loved seeing how he grew as a character, same goes for Vale. Both their characters grew so much through out the story. I really wanted to love Crawford but that didn't happen, especially once we got to know more of him. I had different scenarios running through my head of him waking up and being a douche or of him waking up and being totally heart broken. Im not going to tell you what actually happened tho. I really hope Abbi Glines decides to write more about these characters, maybe even Crawford's story. As She Fades is a phenomenal read that you wont want to put down til the very end. Each turn of the page will have you wanting more of these characters.

The writing was juvenile at best. Unreadable.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this book. I didn't think I would like an Abbi Glines book after the Sea Breeze series, but she blew all of my expectations with this book! I was so impressed and surprised with the twist in the middle. It was absolutely amazing. I felt like I knew how the book would end, and then she threw a wrench in all of my predictions. Truly I was amazed by this book. At first, I thought this would be another romance that was predictable and had a male character that was a pathetic meninist, but no, actually both the characters were endearing in their own ways. I do think it ended a bit too soon. I think there was a lot more development that could have happened at the start of Part 2. The entirety of Part 2 was too short, but I really enjoyed the entire book.

This book wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. I just read it so I can have read all of Abbi’s currently published books. So there’s that?

This story was beautiful and intriguing and I loved reading it. I have loved everything I have read of Abbi's and this was no different. This story was addicting and I could not put it down. I definitely can't wait to read what's in store for us next!

Help me. Send chocolate. Or Dylan O'brien, whichever is easiest.

Let me start from the beginning so that you will understand my plea.

This story follows Vale McKinley as she goes through something unimaginable. She does everything possible to keep a hold on the one boy she's ever loved. This isn't about cake and party balloons. This is about letting go, moving on, and truly finding yourself.

So, yeah. I'm conflicted. I like to keep my reviews spoiler free (unless it's a series!) but a twist happens about half-way through and it left me a little...jarred? It wasn't a bad twist by any means-it surprised the heck out of me-but it felt...off. It played out a little weird, almost like a dream moving forward. I kinda wish it happened a tad earlier because the first half almost becomes...moot in a way.

I know! I make no sense, but trust me.

Vale bugged me at a few times but I think that was because what she was feeling, thinking, and choosing to do were real actions anyone would make. I wished it was all just butterflies and cotton candy, a perfect combo, am I right? But it was nice to see her growth during the first half, but it almost seemed, once again, moot.

Slade was the typical frat boy. Girls threw themselves at him in like, every chapter, which became a yawn fest. I wanted something different for once, but I get that attraction. He seemed hot, nice (when no one is around) and was just as lost as we all are.

Despite that, I found the chemistry really nice between him and Vale. It wasn't forced, it wasn't instant attraction. It fit for the moment and how the story was going. It worked. I just wish I could have had more scenes of them growing closer and really feel that connection.

This wasn't predictable after the first half. It was nice. There were a few cliches but I'm guilty of liking those in all romance books, so it wasn't really a downside for me! This wasn't like bam! with how the story went but it was a nice, short read. It wasn't overly dramatic, loud and crazy.

I could say it was a tad boring in a few places.

I'd like to point out that the summery of this story, is not correct. I don't want to spoil anything, so if you have a question about what is wrong with it and the story, comment below or write me on twitter!

But overall, it was a good read. Typical Abbi type words and writing--aka, that's good!
