I’ve had this book on my TBR for so long, I decided to read it for my October spooky reads after recommendations from 2 really great friends.

First of all, I want to start by saying this book isn’t bad, it’s actually really beautifully written & enjoyable (1 extra star for that). There were some creepy parts but they weren’t majorly creepy.

Secondly, the characters are really likeable, especially Rowan - I think I have a thing about men called Rowan! Some of them I connected with more than the others, but the ones I connected with less were still likeable.

And thirdly, the plot was unique and gripping, when I put this book down I was always thinking about it.

So WHY, in the blue hell was I so confused all the time?! I mean, I know it put the character names at the top of the chapters but still...
And I think the ending was so...safe. It was a safe way out and I wish it was a bit more shocking than it was.

Overall, a beautifully written book, I just wish I wasn’t so confused when I read it. I might of understood it a lot more.

TW: mentions of sexual assault, death, abuse,

I really enjoyed this book! I thought it was really engaging and discusses themes of grief and loss really well without over-doing it or overshadowing the plot of the novel. It weaved the idea of grief and how it's a process and is overwhelming and you're not entirely sure of how to process it or what to do with it — especially at such young ages.

I loved the characters, I thought they were all done super well and grew and learned to kind of accept the darkest parts of themselves and love each other in spite of it.

GAY!! Loved the LGBT rep in the book. If that wasn't obvious.

There's an interesting twist that I kind saw, but didn't. There's also a weird... implied incest situation, not in the sense that something happened, but in the sense that people had crushes on people and didn't know...

Overall, I really enjoyed it and it was a really fun read and you can count on me to pick up more of Moira Fowley-Doyle's works!

I don't give 5 stars often, but I really enjoyed this book! I'd love, love, love to read this author's other book, and I hope she writes more soon.

Este libro tiene uno de los (sino EL) finales más anticlimaticos que leí en mi vida. Igual me gustó pero en serio, sentí que le faltaban varías páginas al final.
