3.75 stars. I enjoyed this book so much!

I liked how they mixed Elves with norse mythology.

But I could guess the plot twist from the beginning lol

The cover caught my eye and it was available free on prime reading. I loved it! The characters were likeable and the plot moved at a good pace. I hadn’t read anything that incorporated Norse mythology before so really enjoyed that element too. I did figure out the plot twist about half way through but it didn’t take anything away from the enjoyment of the book

Am I broken for loving him

Omg this high fantasy romance made me realise just how broken I really am. I’m truly madly and totally in love with Marroc, a soulless cursed being who wants to actively suck out the souls of everyone he comes into contact with and all I can think is, yea but he’s so dreamy haha

Ali is a night elf, she’s also an assassin and a their tasked with stealing something from the high elves vaults, unfortunately this does not go to plan but sets into motion a series of events that is nothing short of fate

Marroc we have already discussed but he is awoken when his soulmate finds his soul in a ring in a vault .....you see where this is going

Told in dual POV we follow Ali and marroc to helheim and back in this wonderfully charming and funny YA fantasy
I Loved the characters, their relationship and the story. The descriptions really paint the scene and the whole plot keeps who enthralled I need to read more

Wow! What a ride this book was. Gripping from start to finish, I couldn't put it down and will definitely go on to read the next two books in the series. Crawford writes exceptionally well and the characters of both Ali and Marroc were really likeable. I loved the emotional intensity and the high-stakes action. Highly recommended!
