The story is okay but lacks worldbuildning in my opinion. It is a bit boring to follow only two people through the most of the book. Slow tempo and not getting under the skin of the characters holds the book back. An easy read.

DNF partway through chapter 4. It felt rough, and the way the book opens didn’t sit well with me. I felt like I was pulled into the middle of a series, with names dropped, lore hinted at, and a whole different world then real life, and expected to stay invested while it feels so rushed? I couldn’t do it :(

I finished last night and for whatever reason the review I left for Amazon did not pop up here as it usually does, kept getting an error code. So, I'll just write a quick one here because I know it's super important for authors. Anyways, buy it, read it, it's sooooo freaking good. She has become an autobuy author for me, I love everything she writes that I've read. This book has great characters, I freaking love Marroc, the world building is excellent and the story is great. There's a ton of action, betrayal, twists and turns and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book. There's some great creatures in this, its imaginative and if you like to just get lost in a book, this will more than do it!!
