Uber cringy but mostly readable...for a while, at least. Jacks is a real canker sore.

I don't know how anyone could possibly ship Jacks and Evangeline. It is EXTREMELY NOT SEXY how Jacks is the actual worst. And the constant symbolic apple tossing? Super annoying.

My heart keeps getting broken by FRIENDS betraying her.

I keep hoping the main character will stop being tossed around by s***** dudes and just become an independent woman, but I know it's not happening.

Me the entire front half of the book:
Uhhh stupid mc, call Poison Control, you stupid dumb dummy

I feel like this author is holding me hostage and I kind of hate her for it. Too much of the plot is from people holding back information. It's a really bad strategy because whenever we find out the truth, it's disappointing because there's been so much build up to it. I also want this ship to sink hard.

Ugh I wish it just stopped there. Nothing that Evangeline does is ever a good idea. I definitely can't make it through another one of these. I was struggling pretty hard toward the end of there.
