Well, it could have been much, much worse, that's for sure.

I only really, truly bought this because it was an eight dollar hardback book. Otherwise, I would have read it online and never shelved it.

But, after reading it, I was pretty glad that I did buy it, because it's a nice addition to the series.

So, without getting into too much detail, it's a great companion to Eclipse. It has cute, yet tragically brief romance that's completely different from the romance featured in the primary novels...which I actually preferred. If you have the other four books, just get this one, too. You can't go wrong in that scenario. Who COULD go wrong, paying eight dollars for a hardback?

This book was short and got to the point. I didn’t hate the book by any means, but I just felt as if it were missing something. It did make me feel strong emotion though! When they were thirsty for blood, I could feel it. When they were angry and hostile, the book made me feel that emotion and the pain they felt. I thought it was well written and a good read, but I most likely wouldn’t want to read it again.

I've never been a big fan of when authors give a back story to minor characters as an additional book/novella and this was was the case with this one. Even back when I was a huge Twilight fan I never saw the point to this book and when I flicked through it the other day I still don't. It just felt like it was released to try and bring back the Twilight hype for the last few movies , I honestly would rather have had rather Midnight Sun be released than this. There was a lack of anything substantial with this book, whilst I read it for the first time in only a couple of hours, when I was a Twilight fan I think I read it about twice afterwards because it was just so dull. Bree wasn't the most interesting protagonist and I was expecting more from the story of what was going on with Victoria and the newborn army. This book was just pointless and I wish I had not paid the money I had for this book.
