I was so happy we finally got Coltonโs story. His tension with Noah was perfectly doneโbiting, frustrating, and addictive. But honestly, the years of miscommunication and wrong assumptions had me fuming. All that wasted time! Still, the moment things started shifting between them? Pure payoff. That slow build-up, filled with denial and hidden longing, was so satisfying.
What really pulled me in was the bi-awakening storyline. Watching both men come to terms with their feelings, not just for each other but for themselves, made the connection feel even deeper. That personal journey added something special. It didnโt feel rushed or forcedโit unfolded naturally, which made the steamy and tender moments even more believable.
At first, I had some doubts. The rivalry seemed childish, and I couldnโt understand why two grown men held onto so much resentment without talking things through. But once the truth finally came out, it all clicked into place. That late twist didnโt just surprise me, it actually changed the way I saw their whole dynamic.
Thereโs a bit of grump vs grump going on here, which made their bickering sharp but also hilarious. The jealousy scenes? So good. Especially when Noah started going after what he wanted with no apologies. I loved seeing that shiftโhow he wouldnโt let Colton push him away anymore. The chemistry turned feral, and I was there for it.
Also, I really liked the small town setting and how both families played a role. The scenes with Coltonโs family, and Noahโs bond with his uncle, added warmth and grounded everything. It balanced out the angst with softer, more emotional beats. Iโm definitely curious about Lawsonโs story after this.
Even though it didnโt quite top book one for me, this was still a strong read. The beginning had me doubting, but the way it all came together made it worth it. I ended up way more invested than I expected.
