This lil novella fucking slayed me. Ugh Salvo & Shae, the world building, and the setting were all fucking enticing. I need more.

I really enjoyed this one. There is a cliffhanger and there is cheating. The only time I can tolerate cheating and still root for an HEA is if the marriage is all business and no love or broken beyond repair and no longer being in love. These characters are not in love with their significant others and they are in very unhealthy relationships.
I really loved the protagonist and fell for her. My one complaint, big spoiler,
Not that I am against surprise pregnancy but....when you don't use protection what do you think is gonna happen??? Drives me nuts.

This was a satisfying quickie that left me wanting more. Shae and Salvatore have an instant attraction, a nasty storeroom romp, and some unfinished business that I need to see rectified.
I was expecting straight smut and instead got what felt like an introduction to another story; like the book version of a pilot episode. The author set the scene and characters wonderfully, especially considering the word count. But after the last page, it all felt like a tease for something more...I hope!
