What a wonderful woman. She spoke so eloquently of so many of my core world views.

Without ever realizing.. Jane Goodall played a huge part in how I see the world. 17 years ago I went to a Roots & Shoots talk where I got to meet Jane Goodall. I was already heavily involved in school clubs and already knew I wanted to go to university for environmental management. I remember listening to Jane speak, how her words gave me goose bumps, how she got the entire auditorium of Toronto schools to mimic chimp sounds and how this one single person made hundreds of us just feel something more. The Book of Hope made me understand why Jane Goodall does what she does and how her positivity and encouragement of hope gives people incentive to do and be better.

While listening to Doug and Jane narrate their words I found myself stopping whatever I was doing and listened, promptly forgetting what I was doing. Great read!

Not the book I was expecting but I really adore Jane Goodall and her contributions.

The most moving book I’ve read in a very long time. I don’t think that non-fiction has ever made me cry, but this had me multiple times. Magic!

Definitely hopeful, in that hope is an active thing. We need to work towards fulfilling that hope.
