I liked this book by the end of it. I struggled a lot with the timelines shifting between chapters with little notice. But I love a book with strong female leads.
2.5 stars. I guess I’m confused about who this book is meant for. If you’re someone who loves Greek mythology, this is likely too elementary for you. But if, like me, you don’t know a lot about it, it introduces too many characters too quickly without a thru-line story to really grab a hold of to keep your interest.
“Because the Spartan king had lost his queen, a hundred queens lost their kings.”
This was a great read for me. I enjoyed the combination of stories from multiple women present in the story of Troy. As someone who has always loved Greco-Roman mythology and is fascinated with the Trojan war this was an amazing piece of literature as it expands on the POVs of women that we usually don't hear as tales usually focus on the male heroes of the war.
