I need to gather my thoughts but honestly, I hate this story for being so good. It’s downright painful to read but also hard to put down and the ending was everything I could’ve hoped for after the first part. It was rough and heartbreaking and important and unfortunately relatable for a lot of people.
This is not for folks looking for a light read.

This book is a rough read, be aware that the first half of the book is heavily centered around her abusive and toxic boyfriend, I personally was not prepared for just how abusive he was, definitely left me bawling my eyes out for the main female lead, she did not deserve everything she went through, it's an emotional read, do check TRIGGER WARNINGS ⚠️ It does end in a HEA, but this book can be very hard for some people, so please do check everything about this book before going into it.

This was a tough read for me. Very triggering. It's very well written and the main characters were engaging. But, there was so much domestic and sexual violence on the page. I might have DNFed if this weren't for a bookclub.

Soo, I saw this book recommended on TikTok and went in completely blind, expecting a cute sports romance, a basketball romcom. Yeah, that’s not what this is… This book is … dark. Very good, but not “cute romcom”. So going in blind on this one: 0/10 do not recommend that approach. 
But the book is very good, very close to five stars for me. This is my first Kennedy Ryan book, but not the last. The writing is exquisite and poetic, including the spicy moments, which is a balance that is tough to pull off.

This book was heartbreakingly beautiful. It tackles some tough issues but definitely ones that need to be discussed! It wrecked me in the best and worst of ways. Proceed with caution.
