Mary Alice is one of my favorite authors. I've been fortunate enough to meet her a few times, and she is SO nice! Funny, bright, and a terrific conversationalist (as you might expect). READ.THIS.BOOK!

Close to what I anticipated, but ultimately a little formulaic. I did learn some new things about monarch butterflies, though. I read the Kindle edition, and the little monarch factoid that opens each chapter was so faint it was almost unreadable.

Happy Reading, friends!

I just loved this book. Well written, sucked me in and a story of generations of women, their relationships, secrets, forgiveness and rebirth. I easily related to this story and would definitely recommend it. This story touched me and will stay with me.

Quirky characters, fun, mostly light read. Fun to learn more about monarch butterflies.

I've loved every book I've read by Mary Alice Monroe. Was concerned since this one didn't take place in Low Country, but I shouldn't have been...it was a great story.

I'm really hoping this is the beginning of a new series. What a great book. I loved learning all that about butterflies.

Took a little conscious suspension of belief because things worked so perfectly on this girls car trip. But I appreciated that it wasn’t all sunshine and roses in the end. Overall a very enjoyable read.

The audiobook was read by the author, which was wonderful. She was great at doing different voices for different characters.

There were some things that bothered me a little. The story could turn a tiny bit corny at times, and though most of the conversations were very realistic(she really did a great job reading those by the way!), sometimes characters could get into quite the monologue.

Now I did like the story. It was like a road-movie in book form. A coming-of-age story with lots of interesting characters coming in and out of the story as the main character travelled further and further. Also, there were lots of butterflies! And interesting facts about them too.

Anyway, this isn't my favorite book of all time, it's not the most beautifully written, deeply moving, life-altering book I've read, but it had heart and I enjoyed it. And it would make a great audiobook to take with you on your own road trip, or just on vacation!
