TW: rape, self-harm

Wow, wow, wow, I loved this graphic novel. I listened to the audio book AGES ago, and I don't remember being all that affected by it. But this is just done beautifully. I love the writing and the art is ON POINT. Like, I'd happily frame multiple of these pages in a series. Was I missing something from the book or is this just a more perfect vehicle for this story? The art element fits perfectly with the illustrative writing and the theme of art throughout the story. It's kind of like a perfect aspiration for my journal sketching.

Just loved this. Highly, highly reccomend, and I feel like it targets the silence, shame and trauma associated with sexual abuse and high school situations better than "13 Reasons Why". In a much more healthy manner, too. THIS is the book that should be read by high schoolers. It is painfully relate able for readers, in just the right ways.

This was a brilliant way to tell the story of Speak. Art is important and healing to the main character, and using a graphic novel format to show the same story of the original novel works very well. The art is direct and just incredibly well done, and this version is even more emotional than the original because of the images here. Definitely a difficult read, but I'd recommend it to anyone who feels like they can handle it. I am quite glad that Laurie Halse Anderson choose to work with an illustrator to create this.
dark emotional inspiring tense fast-paced

Mistakenly reviewed the actual book. Anyways, this work is amazing & please read it.

This book was incredibly painful and triggering to read but so well done.

this was beautiful and even more emotional than reading the original novel. i kind of want to cry. so worth the read.

I had to read this one for an assignment in Library school. I don't think I would have chosen it on my own, but it is a very powerful book. Especially in light of the recent news of assaults and sexual harassment.

This had been on my reading list for years. The graphic novel version was a quick read that kept me feeling for its heroine, Melinda.

Ive read the original novel awhile ago anf ive wanted ti read this but this book was absolutely fire i love how it ends
