The book can be distilled to the summary in the Appendix. I admire the author's attempt to generalize the world into systems, but oftentimes it feels rigid, nuances lost, conclusions forced. I don't disagree with the many system-level observations, but it's hard to appreciate them in a void; it feels like a less clear Econ textbook. Well, maybe I'm just not a system thinker.
I really enjoyed this, and I'll probably go through it again. I can see a lot in here that's useful for businesses and managers, and policy makers and enforcers. The discussion of stocks was helpful, especially when thinking about delays in effects. And then leverage points. Lots to think about....

A book that encourages contemplation of the bigger picture. While it doesn’t have “actions arising”, my takeaway at a functional level was the compatibility that systems thinking has with lean production theory.

Read for school for my Systems modelling for Sustainability class. Very useful and helpful not as annoying or hard to understand as a textbook.

One of those books I wish I could make everyone read.
I read this because I felt that I functioned as part of many systems, that they were largely dysfunctional, and that I wanted to change that.
I learned about some ways of thinking about complex systems, and some ways they fall into dysfunctional behaviors. I learned about some sorts of stimuli that seem to have more or less impact on systems. I also read about an attitude towards existing with systems that was focused on harmony and not on control. This helped articulate a new lens with which to see the world; it also illuminated another aspect of what sort of life I want to lead.
Definitely worth the time spent reading and thinking.

Great book in general, highly recommended if you just have the curiosity to analyse and think about phenomena around you, because everything can be seen as a system so this book is a helpful guide on how to see and try to understand *everything*.
