i think this is the first time im not deeply book hungover when i finish a saga.
the whole process of reading this books was fun, it made me realize that maybe im not that much of a fan on young adult, like i used to be.
regarding the book.
most of the things done, say escaping from a maximum security prison, were fairly easy if you ask me. yes i know they had magic and all but the fact that Rose never actually got caught? please! thankfully her bff is now a queen in case she ever does get in trouble.
Rose and Dimitri´s love story was really pretty and filled with that thing that makes us mortal women believe we have a chance to change the renegade into loving us, just like nicholas sparks constantly does.
long story short, reading this was entertaining, i didnt love love them, because i dont feel like i went through a horrible break up.
but it was fun after all i liked them

This book had a great potential, but it stayed on that. Still, I enjoyed it.
One curious thing is how I much more like Christian and Lissa and not so much Rose and Dimitri.

*has some spoilers
this is a reread
plot: in this one abe gets rose out of prison and sydney dimitri and rose leave so that adrian, lissa, abe, and christian, and tasha actually can prove rose is innocent in court, and along the way they actually bring sonya back to life and get "help" from viktor except they like dont. and they find lissas sister (WHO WAS JILLLLLLLLL). and then at the end its found out that tasha (knew that bitch was shady) was the one framing her and she basically tries to kill lissa but rose jumps in front of her and is like abt to die. AND LISSA DIDNT SAVE ROSE CAN U BELIEVE THAT. like rose lived thank god but like lissa chose that moment not to mess w her magic like thats crazy. this plot was good tho sm was going on.
rose: love her my queen
dimitri: he redeemed himself in this one thank god but its not the same yk.
other characters:
liked: i forgot to add sydney, jill, and abe to this in the previous books
hated: tasha ozera.
romance: i ofc am so happy that rose and dimitir ended up together bc they are meant to be but my heart hurts for my baby adrian. like lowkey when i think abt it rose had sex w dimitri in this book while she was still dating adrian which is HORRIBLE. i hope he finds someone. and lissa and christian are still going strong.
this one was my fav in the series.

From interesting to boring to pure-Twilight... this series started good and ended on LOW. Read this review to understand how I truly feel: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/95264280
This book was amazing!!!! I started reading the Vampire academy serie because I thought it was going to be calm and innocent but Omg was I wrong! It's one of the best series I've ever read! What i liked the most about these books is the complexity of the characters. Each of them developed mentally and they also developed their relationships wich I feel sometimes authors forget. If you haven't read it yet, please read I swear you will not regret it!!
18 yr old me sees how horrible rose was. SHE CHEATED ON ADRIAN LIKE POOR ADRIAN ACTUALLY LOVED HER AND SHE JUST USED HIM and cheated on the best boy in this series .

I have officially reached the end of the Vampire Academy series and I'm overwhelmed in the best possible way. Last Sacrifice is a fast-paced, emotional, and satisfying finale that gave me so many moments I'd been waiting for. While it wasn't perfect, the good far outweighed the few things that left me wanting more.
First, let's talk about everything that hit just right.
Rose's arc was phenomenal. After everything she's been through across these six books, it was so rewarding to watch her step fully into herself. Not just as a fighter and Lissa's protector, but as someone who deserves happiness. I was so proud of her.
Dimitri's journey of forgiveness and healing? Ugh, my heart.Seeing him finally let go of the guilt and love Rose again made all their pain feel worth it. Their reunion, and the fact that they're reinstated as Guardians, to Lissa and Christian respectively, was the perfect ending for them.
Speaking of Lissa: she really grew on me in this one. I've had a rocky relationship with her character, but by the end, I genuinely liked her. She showed maturity, especially after the bond broke, and her relationship with Christina felt strong and earned. They're a great political power couple, and I'm happy with where they landed.
And I have to shout out the "reveal the real killer" moment near the end. I was very Agatha Christie and so satisfying. That scene had a great tension and payoff, and the way it unraveled was both clever and emotionally charged. It added another layer to the political intrigue and was one of my favorite scenes in the entire book.
Now...on to the parts that left me frustrated.
Adrian. Just...Adrian. I already wasn't sold on the Rose/Adrian romance, and in this book, it just went downhill. His behavior toward Rose after their breakup was immature and gross, and as Rose pointed out, he's always playing the victim. I hope he grows in Bloodlines, because right now? He's a walking red flag.
And while I was happy with the "happy ending," I really wish we'd gotten a true epilogue. A glimpse into the future, even just a few pages, would have made the conclusion feel more complete. I understand that Richelle Mead was setting up for Bloodlines, but I didn't want setup. I wanted closure for the characters I've grown so attached to.
Still, even with those complaints, I'm giving this a solid 5 stars. It delivered on emotion, action, character growth, and long-awaited payoffs. The themes of loyalty, love, sacrifice, and especially forgiveness were beautifully woven throughout the story.
Highly recommend the entire series to any reader who loves fierce heroines, high-stakes drama, and emotional roller coasters. Now if you need me...I'll be nursing this wicked book hangover and staring at a wall.
