Could not put down. I'm sad it came to an end , & that they were so good that I flew through them. Definetly going to read the spinoff series , but will 100% miss reading from Rose point of view !!!

It wrapped up the series in a really nice way. Were the major outcomes predictable- yes. But that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, give the people what they want after all.

Me ha encantado la saga. Es alucinante la cantidad de sorpresas que siguen a la trama

This was such a good ending to the whole series. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out, except for one thing. I admire Rose and Lissa so much, they're both so strong, and it's amazing how much they have developed since the first book. I thought that 'Last Sacrifice' was filled with action, and I didn't find it to be any boring or slow moments throughout the book. I'm sad that the series is over, but happy that everything turned out the way they did.

I wish I could give negative stars in this review. This book is unbelievably bad.

The only reason I read this book was because I had already read the previous 5 and bought this one, it felt like a waste to leave it unfinished. Should've DNFd.

I started the book thinking Rose was acting out of character and finished it convinced of how much of a horrible person she is. She uses people, wrecks their life and then never thinks about them again. She only cares about her oh so wonderful Dimitri who continues to disappoint as a character. Not only does he not care about how weird their relationship is (he is 25 and she's 18, but they also met when she was a minor and he was HER TEACHER), he also doesn't actually care about all the innocent people he killed as a strigoi moving on in the space of WEEKS. Both of their behaviours towarda Adrian was questionable but in this book, it's outright deplorable. Rose cheats on him, Dimitri talks about this like Rose is an object he's stealing (further proving how much of a disgusting person he is), Rose sees Adrian almost immediately after it happens and decides not to tell him because she needs to use him one last time. And he still has to find out on his own, only to a little later be blamed because he felt like his life is ruined. And how dare he think that, right, Rose?

Mead kept adding meaningless plots that, in the end, mostly don't get resolved and are left unaddressed. You can tell that the two previous books were fillers to sell and this one she just didn't know what to do anymore. 5 books of build up and THAT'S all you do with the connection between Rosa and Lissa.

Talking about Lissa, her and characters like Christian, Adrian, Jill, Sonya and Tasha were underutilised unless she needed someone to take her of her plotholes.

The revelations are poorly done and timed even worse.

The last thing I will complain about is how normalised the relationship between Rose and Dimitri was. It's weird that a 25 yearl old is dating an 18 year old. No amount of "oh they went through so much together" or "but their souls are aligned" or "they started dating after she turned 18" will make this relationship okay. And having the people you frame as bad with your language be the only people who criticised it is very telling of your morals and ideals.

This book, and the whole series with a finale like this, are a waste of time and I wish I could get it back, as well as my money.

The only thing I'm happy about is that I'm finally done with it.

This series is very well written and the plot points are evident from book one. The character development is insane and the writing is very well done for its time. BUT. That fucking relationship plot nearly killed me

I understand using this huge “will they get together?” Plot to create suspense, but in doing this, Mead put Roses development in jeopardy. I bet there is not one person who liked the way rose treated Adrian. She emotionally cheated on him and then physically cheated on him. It was very obvious their relationship would never survive and I can bet you that mead just wanted to re-create that forbidden love troupe. The problem with this is that we all like Adrian and having rose do him dirty just really puts a hole in our love for rose. Plus, Adrian and rose would have never survived anyway, since it is nailed into our heads since book one that moori (still cant spell it) don’t marry or have serious relationships dhampiers. So wtf??

Rose is an awesome character and develops wonderfully (though the hate for moori and human relationships was so frustrating and felt racist, though I think that’s what mead was going for) and I really did appreciate this growth (cheating non-withstanding) aswell as all of the characters.

I liked dimitris growth, and the way he felt with his trauma, he didn’t want to hurt anyone so he kept them at a distance, which I find suits his personality very well.

The plot ending nicely, with Lissa becoming queen, though a bit unrealistic, since she wants to pursue college.

All in all, this is a great series, it’s fast paced and fun. But I really wish that this cheating scandal never happened. We didn’t need it. The suspense was always there and I would have actually enjoyed the sexual tension between dimitri and rose, but as it was written I just felt guilty even reading it. WE DONT LIKE CHEATING HERE

but still a good story
