3.5 stars. one of the most tragic books i’ve ever read. i am not a fan of hardcore sci-fi, so i didn’t always enjoy the book, however i admire how very well crafted it was. the storyline, characters, and tragedy had my heart, and then broke it.

Thing 1: this book is brutal. The rape scenes are fairly graphic, as as the murders. 

Thing 2: this book dragged me in and would not let go. I didn't even particularly like any of the characters; that really isn't important. This kind of big, slow-ish paced unraveling of a mystery that picks up speed as it goes ... yeah. 100% my jam.
