Sometimes, I read a great book that I really enjoyed, and I jump on GR to give it an awesome rating, and then I see all these 2/2.5 star ratings and I sit there like, "WTF?"

For some people, this may not be their cup of tea. They might enjoy something else. For others, I really think you're taking the thing too seriously. There are some great books out there to take seriously, and this is not one of them. It's about a fanfic writer who unknowingly sends his novel-length fanfic to the author himself. The super hot author he has a major crush on, who then wants to make the book part of the series. Oh, and fuck. A lot. This is not a serious plot. This is fun and goofy and kinda meta and total fan service. Every fanfic writer's dream!

Of course, Kevin starts to think he made a huge mistake when the fans and success get overwhelming.

I thought this was a fun read and a great addition to Bluewater Bay.

Enjoyed the fandom/writer problems on this one more than the romance. I couldn't quite get a grip on Kevin and his insecurities. Or Kevin in the bedroom. To start he was all pushy with heavy hints about handcuffs in his overnight bag but that didn't really go anywhere.
And don't get me started on the ending. Kevin should have manned up and gone to see Hunter. Or least have made a phone call. I got the impression Kevin would have let Hunter get away if Hunter hadn't made the first move.

While I seem to be in a minority, I absolutely bloody loved this book.

It was steaming hot but still had an edge to it which kept me wanting to find out more.

I am a sucker for fanfic as well, particularly the Merlin TV show universe so I loved the whole premise behind Kevin's writing drawing the attention of the author.

I also loved this one being about the creator of the setting that all the other books revolve around and getting an insight into the mind of Wolf's Landing author Hunter.

I also liked Kevin and could understand both his fanboy reactions and his overwhelming sense of panic as things developed.
And another set of gorgeous men on the cover only adds to the pleasure.

That was a super fun, super feel good book!

Hunter Easton, author of the Wolf’s Landing books has a massive case of writer’s block. Until he reads an epic fanfic written by a fan. Not that he’s supposed to…but he only reads stories by this one fan…and he totally flirts with him over the internet even though the guy doesn’t know he’s Hunter Easton…

But all that changed when Easton realizes this story could save his ass. he’s way past due on the next book in the series and the story he just read is perfect. So he meets with LoneWolf - aka Kevin Hussain - and makes him a proposition: his book as the next book in the series. His name on it and everything - no ghost writing, just straight up “yes, this was written by somebody else”.

He manages to sell this idea to Kevin, then his agent, who then manages to sell it to the editor and publisher, after some finagling (Hunter’s name still has to be on it, etc…).

Besides bringing their work together, Kevin and Hunter are very much attracted to each other. And a sort of relationship develops. I say sort of because at first I don’t think either of them really knows what to call it, but after awhile it’s definitely a relationship and not just sex. And by “after awhile” I mean “pretty freaking quickly”.

Between writing, editing, his first experience at a con as anything other than a fan, and Hunter Easton being, well, Hunter Easton, Kevin is, understandably, overwhelmed. He’s also very worried about over stepping his bounds with Hunter because Hunter made it clear early on that he likes his space. So due to lack of communication, a rocky spot sends Kevin into a bit of a tail spin of worry and anxiety, not helped by the fact that all of the Wolf’s Landing fans now know his name and face.

But Hunter juts has to step up and remind Kevin he’s not alone in this.

A sweet, feel good romance.

I think I’m loving the Blue Water Bay novels a lot :) Shall have to get them.
